Wilma Alvernia Johnson joined the church triumphant Wednesday, April 6, 2005. She was born the first of five children to William George and Marietta (Gillespie) Dutton on December 6, 1910 in Quincy, KS. She was married to Clarence William Johnson on March 26, 1932 in Wichita, KS. The Johnson's moved to Waxahachie, TX. in 1975 after retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. They became members of the First United Methodist Church. Wilma was active in the Garden Club, Century Club, and United Methodist Women. She received three lifetime memberships from UMW while active at Arlington and Houston. She taught Sunday School for seventeen years and was a Brownie Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by: one son, Dr. Richard L. Johnson and his wife Ethel of San Antonio; one daughter, Beverly Crawford of Waxahachie; three grandchildren, Andrew Johnson and his wife Stephanie of Phoenix, AZ., Blake Johnson and his wife Monica of San Antonio, TX., and Betsy Crawford of Waxahachie; four great grandchildren, Bethany and Micah Johnson of Phoenix, AZ., and Hannah and Caleb Johnson of San Antonio, TX.; three brothers, Everett Dutton of El Campo, TX., Lynn Dutton of Iola, KS., and Jay Dutton and his wife Virginia of Colony, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Orville Dutton of Carmel Valley, CA.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Saturday, March 9, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Richard Reed, Grandsons Blake Johnson and Andy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund at the First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin, Waxahachie, TX. 75165.
