Wilma Lee Collins-Baxter, 66, of Waxahachie, formerly of Edgewater, MD, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009 peacefully, surrounded by her children at home. She was born to the late James William and Sylvia E. Smith-Collins on December 1, 1942 in Washington, DC.


Willie loved gardening, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed driving, crafting, and refurbish antiques. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog and constant companion Mr. Quick. She will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.


She is survived by her sons, Wayne C. Ashley, Jr. of Everett, WA, Richard W. Ashley of Edgewater, MD; her daughters, Karen M. Parker of Amarillo, TX, and Betty L. Boggs of Waxahachie, TX; her grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Neuer, Jr. of Lubbock, TX, Wayne C. Ashley III of Kent, WA, Lorena E. Ashley of Centralia, WA, Nicholas J. Neuer of Lubbock, TX, Justin K. Ashley of Chambersburg, MD, Alex L. Ashley of Chambersburg, MD, Seth D. Parker of Amarillo, TX, Shavelle M. Seaman of Waxahachie, TX, and Brandon L. Boggs of Waxahachie, TX; her brothers, Clark Collins of Michigan, William "Billy" Collins of Maryland, George Nicholson of Maryland, and John M. Collins of Maryland; her sisters, Oma Brooks of Maryland, Janis Behn of Florida, and Kay J. McIntire of Maryland.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Baxter; and by her sister, Eileen "JR" Hvizda.


Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 5:00 pm on January 28, 2009
at the Glen Isle Estates Club House, 2724 Pinecrest Dr., Riva, MD
