William Dan Wright passed into the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior on October 14, 2017 in Conway, Arkansas after a short but valiant battle with a respiratory infection. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 21, at 2:00 pm at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas with interment to follow. Visitation with the family will be Friday, October 20, 6-8 pm and Saturday, October 21, 1-2 pm with the funeral to follow immediately afterwards.
Dan was born in Lipan, Texas in 1936 to parents Robert and Ethel Wright. The family later moved to Spur, Texas where Dan spent most of his youth. He married Martha Kimball of Stephenville in 1956 and they were married over 60 years at the time of his passing.
Ordained into Christian Ministry in 1971, Dan spent 38 years as a pastor for Nazarene Churches across Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. After retiring from full time ministry , Dan worked for The Salvation Army for seven years and was later employed by Waxahachie Autoplex until the date of his passing. Dan also served in numerous positions in church and
community organizations in the various cities in which he pastored.
Dan is preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Green and Robbie Chapman and one brother, R. D. Wright.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Martha of over 60 years; one sister, Wonda Hawkins of Big Spring; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Janway; daughter and son -in-law, Danna and Steve Williams and son and daughter-in-law Greg and Carol Wright; granddaughters Heather and husband, David Roberts, Danni Elizabeth Williams, Katie and husband Ryan Walston, Jennifer Wright, Andrea and husband Ben Williams; grandsons John Janway and wife Gina, Zachary Janway and wife Samantha, Andrew Janway, Nicholas Janway and wife Cassandra, Danny Wright and wife Jessica, William Wright, John Williams, Josh Williams; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and three sons of his heart, John Hunnicutt, Herb Parsons and Berry Maples.
