William Petter

William "Bill" Louis Petter, 76 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 in Waxahachie, Texas.

A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Thursday June 23, 2016 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday June 24, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church . Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, Texas at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

He was born on April 25, 1940 in West, Texas, the son of the late William and Annie (Svacina) Petter. He attended school but had to work on the farm in Penelope. Bill enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in March 1959. After being injured he was sent to Japan to a hospital to recover, he then returned to Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio where he ordered classified aircraft parts and equipment. During his time off from work Bill would go Polka dancing and that is how he met Mildred his wife of 54 years. They were married on April 28, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Bill loved to fix anything that needed to be repaired, working in the garden, tending to the animals and resting on the bench swing with his wife. He worked for Signgraphics for twenty plus years and then at Tandy Signs until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Mildred Petter of Waxahachie, Texas; his children, David Petter of Waxahachie, Texas and Brenda Petter of Waxahachie, Texas. Two Brothers: Ben Petter of Sulfur Springs, Texas and Thomas and Jeanette Petter of West, Texas. Two Sisters: Kathy & Billy Pustejovsky of Abbott, Texas and Angeline & Bill Sinkule of West, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews and numerous Grand Pets.

Bill is also preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters: Doris Hutyra, Lillian Bacak and Sophie Petter.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church building fund in Bill's name.
