William E. Mouser, Jr. “Bill” was born on March 5, 1947, to William “Ernie” and Vonita (Johnson) Mouser in Needles, California. He passed away after an extended and valiant battle with cancer on May 20, 2023, surrounded by his family in his home in Waxahachie, Texas.
Bill graduated from Amarillo High School in 1965 and from Texas Tech University in 1974. He interrupted his education at Texas Tech to serve in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1968-1970 during which time he served in Vietnam. He completed a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1978. He married Barbara Kay Beer of Waxahachie, a friend from Texas Tech days, on February 21, 1981. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters and 42 years of love and friendship.
Fr. Bill was a devoted Christian minister, son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He taught, preached, and wrote on the Christian faith throughout his adult life, with emphasis on exegesis of the Scriptures. He served in Austria as the pastor of the International Chapel of Vienna from 1983-87. He was founder and Director of Five Aspects Ministries for 32 years. He was vicar of St. Athanasius Anglican Church from 2004-2020 where he led worship and crafted services of beautiful sacred music. He loved the wisdom literature of Scripture, music, cooking, medical research, numerous crafts, small dogs, and feasts with family and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernie and Vonita Mouser; his brother Robert Mouser; and his daughter Francesca Mouser. He is survived by his wife Barbara Mouser his daughter Alexa Mouser, his daughters and sons-in-law Geneva and William Peterson and Veronica and Tony Tovar, his eight grandchildren, and his brother and sister-in-law Wesley and Elizabeth Mouser.
Graveside service will be held at Waxahachie City Cemetery at 2pm, May 25, 2023, Fr. Jerry Young officiating. Reception following graveside at the Mouser home, 408 Gardenia, Waxahachie TX.
