William Mcadams

February 13, 1930 — September 5, 2018

William Edward (W.E.) McAdams, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie. Interment will follow services in the Lakeview Cemetery in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be observed on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Will was born on February 13, 1930 to William and Della McAdams in Waxahachie, Texas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 through 1954. Following his service, he continued serving as a member of the National Guard for many years. Will had much involvement with community groups such as the Waxahachie Youth Baseball program and the American Legion Baseball program as well. He was a lifelong member of the IOOF Lodge and the American Legion. He also volunteered his time to "Meals on Wheels" by delivering food to those in need. Not to mention Will made the best peanut brittle in 3 counties.. Will's servant heart lead him to serve as a Deacon at the Southlake Baptist Church where he, among many things, enjoyed cooking breakfast for his bible classes there. He was always willing to help anyone at any time, it didn't matter what he had going on. He was the kind that would give you the shirt of his own back if you needed it. If the world had more people like Will in it, well, it would be a much better place.

Will was employed with Flexsteel Industries for 42 years and was the Owner and Operator of Mac's Fabrics. When he had free time, he was an avid fisherman, golfer, outdoorsman, gardner and a reader. Of all of Will's accomplishments he had in his life, he was most proud of his family. He loved spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ervin and Della Mae McAdams; his wife of 53 years, Elsie McAdams; sisters, Della Mae, Janie and Vi; brothers, John and Jack.
