William Robert "Bill" Lyon, age 54
May 5, 1949
February 27, 2004

Mr. Lyon passed away Friday at his Waxahachie residence. He was a lifelong resident of Waxahachie, Texas. He was born to Edwin Kenner Lyon and Lona Mae Childress Lyon. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1967. He was a self employed businessman and builder. He was claimed by the Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church.

Bill was a candidate for Governor of Texas in 2002, a disc jockey for Radio Station KBEC in the late 60's and President for Home Builders.

He is survived by his mother; Lona Mae Childress Dunlap and step father Denver Dunlap of Waxahachie; one son, William Robert Lyon Jr. of The Colony; step-son Jimmy Davis of Waxahachie; a step-daughter Sherry Sanchez and husband Armondo of Waxahachie; three brothers, Marvin Lyon and wife Julene of Tatum, New Mexico; J.R Lyon and wife Judy and Denver Dunlap Jr. all of Waxahachie.

Three sisters, Joy Hirsh of Dallas, Linda and Tom Raye of Duncanville; Alice and Clarence Gladney of Midlothian, Jolene and Tommy Martin of Marshall and Doris and James Brogdon of Waxahachie . Also survived by three grandchildren; Alex Sanchez, Rylee Sanchez and Logan Davis, special friend Sharon Potter, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Kenner Lyon.

Bill will be missed by all lives he has touched.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday February 29, 2004 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 P.M. Monday March 1, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel, Wayne Boze Funeral Home, with Herb Corpany and Sol Rodriguez officiating. Pallbearers will be Kyle Pendleton, Armondo Sanchez, Justin Potter, Jimmy Jenkins, Dennis Hickman and Johnny Rains. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
