William Derden

William "Bill" Howard Derden, 71, passed away from this life on October 19, 2016 at home in Five Points. Bill was born on October 25, 1944 in Waxahachie to the late JT and Ernestine Tinsley Derden. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Bertha Sigler Derden of 51 years, children, Kathy and Glenn Watson of Dallas, Texas, Joe Bill and Tisha Derden and Maribeth and Russell Bates all of Huntsville, Texas. Grandchildren; Caroline, Sarah and Jack Watson, Larra and Jeff Ketkoski, Lacey Derden and fiancé, Erik Burzynski, Lindsey Derden, Austin, Dylan and Kylie Bates. Precious great granddaughter, Avery Burzynski. Bill is also survived by his sister Glenda Rutherford and husband Scotty.
Bill worked for the USDA and retired after 33 years of service. Bill and Bertha moved back home to Waxahachie to enjoy retirement on the family farm, gardening, riding his tractor and becoming reacquainted with his HF3 friends. He enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren with his great one-liners, words of wisdom that they all cherish and sharing his Blue Bell Ice Cream. He loved serving at his church, Farley Street Baptist and was recently honored by being ordained as a Deacon.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October, 21 from 6 to 8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home 1826 West Hwy 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October, 22 at 2 pm at Farley Street Baptist Church, 1116 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas.
