William Daniel "Dan" Clark, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 in Waxahachie, Texas. Dan was the son of Edward Easters Clark, Jr. and Mary Evelyn Belt Clark. He was born November 20, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, as the 3rd of three children.
Dan was a graduate of Waxahachie High School, class of 1960. He was also a graduate of Southern Methodist University and The School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church for approximately 60 years. Dan's first marriage on September 6, 1963, was to Sara Anne Walker of Waxahachie who mothered the most adored possessions in his life: Caren Leanne Clark, daughter and William Daniel Clark, Jr., son. His second marriage was to Sandy Russell of Waco, Texas.
Dan was in the banking business most of his working career. In his later years, he was in insurance and real estate, laundry/dry cleaning business, worked for the Texas Employment Commission, and at the time of his death, owned Cart Paths by Clark, a company that installs cart paths on golf courses through the United States.
He is survived by his children, Caren Clark and her children Alexandra and Victoria Hillesheim of Round Rock, Texas; William Daniel Clark, Jr. and his fiancé Eva Cussen and his children Corinne and Campbell Clark of Keller, Texas. Also surviving are one sister, Mary Ann McLane and husband Del of Waxahachie; one brother Edward Clark and his wife Trudy of Yuma, Arizona, and numerous nephews, nieces and dear friends.
Honorary Pall Bearer are: Robert "Rob" Tenery, Jim Pitts, Harold Varnado, Dennis Adams, K.C. Browne, Tom Borders, Dan Ed Morton, Leslea Midkiff and Bob Lynn.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials are made to the American Diabetes Association.
