William Carrol Atkins, age 80

November 9, 2005

Mr. Atkins passed away Wednesday at his Hillsboro residence. He was born in Itasca, TX. to James Carrol and Letha Faye (Fewell) Atkins. Mr. Atkins was married to Mae Jean Porter. He was retired from the US Army.

His survivors are: his wife, Jean Atkins of Hillsboro; sons, Richard A Calabria of Great Mills, MD., Eugene L. Calabria of Waxahachie, TX., and Philip D. Calabria of Clarksville, TN.; daughters, Carolyn Ann Powell of Hillsboro, Phyllis K. Atkins of Las Cruces, N.M., and Frances Harris of Waxahachie; sister, Jo Lemke of Casey, IA.; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Jimmie Carrol Atkins, his parents, one brother and two sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives 2-4 PM Sunday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 10 AM Monday, November 14, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Howard Flemming officiating. Interment will follow in the DFW National Cemetery at Noon.
