Willard David Mayo, age 63
August 4, 1940
February 9, 2004

Mr. Mayo passed away Monday evening at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born in Corsicana to Willard Brink and Billie Doris (Langston) Mayo. He graduated from Coriscana High School in 1958; then attended Navarro Junior College and transferred to East Texas State, Commerce. He entered the US Air Force in 1962, serving in Germany and Vietnam in DaNang during Tiet offensive, receiving his honorable discharge in 1970. He and Mary Wilson were married August 8, 1970 in Clifton, TX. He was employed as salesman/merchandise manager of Dorsey Company McKesson Office Supply for sixteen years. He enjoyed traveling and RV Camping. Mr Mayo was a longtime member of Park Meadows Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Mayo of Waxahachie; sister, Sue Harris of Seattle, WA.; brother-in-law Charles Wilson and his wife Elsie of Aledo; sisters-in-law, Gene and Carrol Hogue of Mesquite, Linda and Roy Griffin of Longview and Fanette and Jimmy Lindsey of Marietta, TX. Also surviving are close special friends, Larry and Glynda Felty, Jim and Annette Cooper and Bob and Casey Schoolfield. Mr. Mayo was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 1 PM graveside services Thursday, February 12, 2004 at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas with Reverend Joe Langley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4425 W. Airport Fwy. Suite 130, Irving, TX. 75062.
