Wayne Lester, 73 of Terrell, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 in a Dallas hospital. He was born to the late Charles & Lorrie Shull Lester on December 31, 1935 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Wayne was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters. He loved to fish and hunt and spend time in the outdoors. Wayne was a veteran and served our country in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his children, Steve Jones of Whitney, Juli Mitchell and her husband, Kevin of McKinney; Carolyn Overton and her husband, Randy of Waxahachie; Darryl Jenkins of Shreveport; 2 brothers-in-law, Ron Montgomery and his wife Vicki of Whitney, Jesus Ramon and his wife, Nell of Dallas; his grandchildren, Brandy Doyle and husband Troy of Ft. Worth; Derek Overton of Waxahachie; and Jessica Kelso of Las Vegas. 5 great grandchildren, Alexus Doyle, Tailer Doyle, Levi Doyle of Ft. Worth; Maci Overton of Waxahachie; Jayden Kelso of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Conita Jean Lester.
Services to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
