Wanda Rippey

Wanda Juanita Rippey, 90, a lifetime resident of Ellis County went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Wanda was born February 19, 1925 in Ellis County to Buck and Lillie Williams. She was a lifetime member of the South Prong Baptist Church. She liked to sew giving others her lovingly made quilts and handmade blankets. Wanda also enjoyed cooking when she was able and we all looked forward to her pies and dressing. She was Voted Mother of the Year twice in Waxahachie and was very much loved by her children and many grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved to take her many grandchildren to play bingo and canasta, as well has many other games. She greatly enjoyed life and had many friends at the Oak Timbers Assisted Living Center. She is survived by her children, Connie Webb of Red Oak; Mary Hamilton and husband Don Dedmon of Terrell; Michael Rollins and husband David of Milford; Donna Elrod of Waxahachie; Carl Blevins of Italy; Darlene McBride and husband Darrell of Italy; and Earl Blevins of Waxahachie; Brother: James Williams of Azle; Sister: LaVon Humphries of Plano; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Rippey; sons, Hugh Allen and Burl Blevins and 7 siblings. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery with Ted Brown officiating.
