Wanda Cowan passed away early Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Emory J. Lilge Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas to Homer and Anna Jewel McPherson. Mrs. Cowan was a member of the Church of God Evangelistic Association. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing the piano and caring for her animals.

Her survivors include her husband James Cowan of Glen Rose; a son, Thon Overstreet of Red Oak; two daughters, Diana Fazakerly of McKinney and Connie Cerny of Frisco; stepson, Mike Cowan of Rockwall. Three sisters, Barbara Weeks, Betty Waldron and Dorinda Galbraith also survive along with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the Church of God Evangelistic Association in Waxahachie, with David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the D/FW National Cemetery, also on Wednesday.
