Walter Davis

March 27, 1951 — April 24, 2017

On April 24th of 2017, Walter Keven Davis, born March of 1951, passed away in his home at the age of 66.

Keven Davis never met a stranger, loved people without seeing their flaws, and always knew a song lyric relevant to whatever you just said, which he'd happily sing. As a partner at Davis and McDill, Surveyors and Engineers in Waxahachie, Texas for 29 years, he was a respected businessman in the community. Keven loved and served the Lord. He was an active member at First United Methodist Church of Red Oak and was deeply involved with Walk to Emmaus and Kairos Prison Ministries.

Keven was an incomparable husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He played guitar and sang with verve and joy. He collected arrowheads and tall tales, and he told and retold lame jokes with relish. He didn't believe in ghosts or Sasquatch, but he wanted to. He took honest delight in the rocks and trees and animals of our world. He was an upstanding member of House Gryffindor.

But his greatest pride and pleasure in life was his family; he loved them without restraint or limit. And he will be missed terribly.

Keven is preceded in death by his father, Luther Monroe Davis, and brother, Kerry Davis. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dana Davis, sons and dots-in-love, Erik and Tamara, Kody and Elizabeth, Brittain and Rachel, and, because "his grandfather clock was ticking and his children produced," his five grandchildren - Scout, Jadon, Ari, Thomas, and Audrey - his mother, Grace Weir, and sister, Brenda Adams, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

The memorial service for Keven Davis will be held at First United Methodist Church of Red Oak on Saturday, April 29th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keven's name to Kairos Prison Ministries of Texas - Beto Unit at kairosoftexas.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
