Walter Dale Buckner was born October 18, 1936, to Curtis and Bertha (Appfel) Buckner. He went to be with his Lord and Savior March 31, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dale enjoyed his work in the shipping and receiving department of Larkin Products. He retired from there in February, 2013, after 51 years of service.
His life revolved around the Church. He served as a deacon for 35 years at Ferris Avenue Baptist Church and 10 more years at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. He retired from active duty as Deacon Emeritus in 2018.
Dale married the love of his life, Linda, in 2001, just before his 65th birthday. He had waited 35 years for her to be his bride and treasured their time together.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Bertha Buckner and his brother in law, Jack Brown. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda, his son Jonathan Lee, his grandson, Michael Lee and his sister Doris Brown. He also is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Because of the Covid 19 virus, a memorial service to celebrate Dale's life will be held later when the quarantine and restrictions have been lifted.
