Walter Lee Autrey, age 77

Mr. Autrey passed away Tuesday morning at his Waxahachie residence. Walter Lee Autrey the son of M. A. and Roxie (Bullock) Autrey was born in Palmer, TX. He attended Palmer Schools and married Helen Juricek August 9, 1947 in Ennis. W.L was a farmer working part time as a Veterinarian Assistant to Dr. Jack Kelly, and ranchhand on the N.P Powell Ranch at Meridian. He was employed with Tyler Refrigeration for 31 years retiring in 1989.
W. L. was a member of the Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, and K.J.T. He enjoyed working on small engines, building bird houses, walking his dog Max, cowboying, deer hunting, fishing, and picking guitars. He loved his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; one son, Jerry and his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Noreene Pierce, Nancy Bow and husband Tom, Peggy Wright and husband Randy, all of Waxahachie, and Betty Fillman and her husband Lonnie of Alma, AR.; one brother, Richard Ramsey of Grand Prairie; one sister, Pearl Springer of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Lois and Christine Autrey both of Waxahachie; eight grandchildren, Clint and Amy Autrey, Rickey Brewer and Amy, Stephanie and Tilman McClendon, Ben Bow, Amanda Bow, Patrick and Kevin Wright, Angela and Gideon Turner; eight great grandchildren, Clinton Lee (Cla) Autrey, Ainsley, Madison and Abby Brewer, Tilman, Holland, Mia McClendon and Hagen Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, and five sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives 7:30 to 9 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM Friday October 28, 2005 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Guadagnoli Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Ennis. Pallbearers will be Dusty Autrey, Gary Don Autrey, Ben Bow, Rickey Brewer, Steven Grier, Clint Autrey.
Memorials may be made to Mass Offerings, Saint Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
