Virgil Neal Jenkins, age 93
November 11, 1914
March 11, 2008

Mr. Jenkins passed away Tuesday morning at Pleasant Manor Health & Rehab in Waxahachie. Mr. Jenkins was born in Avalon to Walter and Beatrice (Mathis) Jenkins. He attended Avalon Schools and married Marzelle Smithey December 22, 1939 in Waxahachie and were residents of the Nash community for 40 years. Neal retired from the Texas Highway Departments as a maintenance supervisor. He was a longtime member of the Farley Street Baptist Church and Men's Downtown Bible Class.

He is survived by one son, Morris Jenkins of Nash, 2 grandchildren Patsy Wesson of Fort Worth and Scott Jenkins and his wife Jamie of Waxahachie, 2 great grandchildren Kaliegh Wesson of College Station and Mackenzie Wesson of Fort Worth. Also surviving is one brother David Jenkins and his wife Lois of Grand Saline. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 6 brothers; Cecil, Cleavy, Roscoe, Homer, RD, and Edward, 5 sisters; Willie, Ivy, Faye, Dorothy and Mildred.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2008 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Dr. Shane Kinnison officiating. Interment will follow in the Hughes Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men's Downtown Bible Class.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
