Vickie Mae Jones (Griffin) died peacefully in her sleep in her home in Hillsboro, TX on June 15, 2020 at the age of 77.
Vickie was born June 12, 1943 in Smith, Texas. Her parents, Katherine Iles Brice and Joseph Ray Brice, raised her and her four brothers, Rolland Gerald (Jerry) Griffin, Danny Ray (Buzzy) Sidney Joe (Chuck) and Robin Dale in Amarillo, TX.
She married her best friend and love of her life, Jay Gerald Jones, who proceeded her in death.
Vickie will be lovingly remembered by her children David Allen (Jana), Donald Troy, Ronald Joseph (Joey) Osburn (Jeannie), Kimberly Delores Osburn Brown (Michael), Stephen Odell Osburn (Heidi) and Matthew Jay (Christina). Vickie will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Casey, Cody, Richard, Justin, Joshua, Jeremy, Katherine, Paige, Jacob, Morgan, Nathan, Cooper, Michael and Abigail; along with countless family members and 7 great-grandchildren.
Vickie and Gerald lovingly raised 6 children in Lancaster, TX. She was active in the life of her children through the FFA, Lancaster Rodeo Team and many sporting events. Most of her career was spent in the automotive industry. Vickie was a devoted sister at the Jehovah’s Witnesses of Hillsboro for many years. She was most at peace at her farm that she and Gerald built together.
Vickie found beauty in nature, especially drawn to colorful flowers and beautiful birds. She loved all things western. She will be remembered for her strong convictions, no nonsense style and selflessly giving heart.
The memorial services will be held by the Jehovah Witness Hall of Hillsboro over a Zoom meeting (ID 254 349 1914) (Password 1918) @ 10 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020. The family will hold a physical celebration of her life at a later date.
