Verna Kreitz

Verna Bai Kreitz of Athens, Texas passed away January 5, 2017 at South Place Nursing Center in Athens, Texas after a long illness. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, January 9, from 6-8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Interment will follow funeral service at Waxahachie City Cemetery in Waxahachie, Texas.

Verna Kreitz was born on June 13, 1926 in Coushatta, Louisiana to Willie and Verna (Harp) Hunter. Verna worked for many years and retired from Neiman Marcus as a professional seamstress. She was active for years in the American Legion and the VFW until her health prevented her from her being faithful in attendance.

Verna Kreitz was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Verna (Harp) Hunter. She was also preceded by one son, John Brown, two daughters, Ann Parks, Carolyn Sue Hedges, sister, Dorothy Byers, half sister, Bobbie Eggleston.

Verna is survived by her son, Billy Wayne Brown of Gunbarrel, Texas, daughter, Brenda Overall of Log Cabin, Texas, brothers, Billy Hunter and wife Hazel of Waxahachie, Wayne Hunter of Anadarko, Oklahoma, half brother, Norman Eggleston and wife Ann of Waxahachie, Ronald Eggleston and wife Patty of Waxahachie. Fourteen (14) grandchildren, thirty (30) great grandchildren, nineteen (19) great great grandchildren. A host of friends.
