Verda Nelle Hopkins January 12, 1921 July 24, 2015 Verda Nelle Hopkins, 94 of Red Oak, Texas passed away Friday July 24, 2015 in Midlothian, Texas. She was born on January 12, 1921 in Cumby, Texas to the late Pascal & Florence Mahaffey Williams. She was a former member of the Red Oak Baptist Church in Red Oak. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her and loved her. She is survived by her two sons: Roy & Nancy Roach of Waxahachie, Texas; Ron LaPlace of Cedar Hill, Texas; 2 Daughters: Paulette & Ken Taylor of Waxahachie, Texas and Gwen Brummitt of Arlington, Texas; 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren: She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Lee Hopkins, 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
