Tula Mae "Hamby" Anderson, age 69

Mrs. Anderson passed away at her residence in Waxahachie Friday morning. Mrs. Anderson was born at Hamrock south of Italy. She graduated from Italy High School (where she was on the basketball team) in 1951. She moved to the Dallas Area for employment out of High School and married Jim Anderson in July of 1963 in Oklahoma. They were partners in Food Service and Insurance in the Metroplex for many years. After Jim's death in 1999 Tula moved to Waxahachie where she loved going to the What A Burger coffee club. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Italy.

Tula was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by two sons; Reverend James Anderson and wife Rita of Greencastle, Indiana, Terry Anderson and wife Lori of Spring, Texas, one daughter Vicky Hanks and husband Mark of Carrollton; one brother Donald Otis "Jackie" Hamby and wife Margaret of Cleburne; one sister Annie Plumhoff of Waxahachie; 5 Grandchildren, Zachary Wood, Christin and Lauren Anderson, and Christopher and Stephen Hanks.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

The Celebration of Life will be at 2PM Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with the Reverend James Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
