Troy Keith Stone, age 68

Mr. Stone passed away Thursday morning at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born in Greenview, W.VA. To Avis and Marie (Sutphin) Stone. He graduated from Scott High School in Madison, W.VA. Mr. Stone joined the US Air Force in 1958, serving with the Air Police in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1962. He and Jo Ann Cornelius were married March 24, 1965 in Mesquite, TX. Troy was employed with Lone Star Gas and later with TXU, retiring after 31 years as TXU supervisor. He moved from Conroe to Red Oak in 1988. Mr. Stone was active in the Republican Party; was precinct chair and election judge. He worked at the Republican Headquarters. Troy particularly enjoyed attending council meetings and keeping politicians "feet to the fire". He also enjoyed golf, fishing and most recently internet radio. Mr. Stone loved his family and grandkids.
His survivors include: his wife, Jo Ann Stone of Red Oak; sons, Timothy Keith Stone and wife Lori of Magnolia, TX., Philip Heath Stone and wife Danae also of Magnolia, and Matthew Bryan Stone of Red Oak; daughters, Alesia Marie Lackey and husband Chris of Conroe, Veronica Cherie Stone, also of Conroe; brother and sister-in-law, Dempsey and Mary Stone of Justin; sisters, Brenda Orebaugh of Arlington, Ann Clagg and husband John of Bossier City, LA.; grandchildren, Corey Lackey, Chelsi Lackey, Chad Lackey, Caleb Lackey, Benjamin Stone, Jaedyn Stone and Paityn Stone. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Herman Stone and two sisters, Brookie Kirby and Melba Green.
The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX. 75165. The Celebration of his Life will be 4 PM Saturday, March 25, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Ministers Brian Manske and Dan Cooper officiating. Interment will be 3:30 PM Monday, March 27,2006 in the Garden Park Cemetery, Conroe, TX.
