Tony Carlton Moseley passed away midday on February 14, 2023. He was born on May 23, 1946, to Joseph Ira and Annie Mae (Hassell) Moseley in Rusk, Texas. Tony grew up in the piney woods of East Texas and enjoyed a rural childhood on the family’s farm.
After graduating from Rusk High School Tony enlisted in the military and served in the Air Force. He rose to the rank of Sergeant with the Mechanic division of the 366 TAC Fighter Wing in Da Nang, Vietnam until 1968.
He was an officer in the Jacksonville Texas Police Department for a short time; before being employed at Armco Steel in Houston Texas. Tony’s experience in the military and the police force gave him excellent qualifications for his last career as a prison guard in TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice), spanning 21 years.
He is survived by son Michael Moseley and his wife Sarah, and Michael’s three daughters; Alexandra, Gabrielle, and Rebecca. His son Joseph Moseley and his wife Allison, and Joseph’s two sons; Caleb and Riley. His daughter Brittanie Moseley. His son Lawrence Moseley and his wife Virginia, and their children, Gabriel and Nevaeh. Tony was also influential in the lives of his nephews John and Stephen Moseley, taking them into his home and providing for their welfare after their father (Tony’s brother), Marvin Moseley passed away 1997.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life which will be on March 1st proceeding from the Wayne Boze funeral home (1826 West Highway 287 Business Waxahachie, TX 75165). The procession will leave the funeral home at 12pm and travel to the graveside service taking place at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75236).
