Tony Ray Grigsby was born in Teague, Texas, on November 22, 1947 to Clara Bell and Royce Aldon Grigsby. He departed from this world, and into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, on February 20, 2021. Tony was known by all those around him as a loving and devoted husband and father. His grandchildren were the center of his life, he cherished every moment with them.
Tony is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, and their children; Shawn Grigsby and his wife Christine, Dawn Chapman and her husband Hirthel, Grandchildren, Jennifer Roberson and her husband Eric, Zachary Grigsby and his fiancé Katie Medica, Ashley Pandey and her husband Alex, Caitlyn Chapman and Carlie Chapman, brother Jack Grigsby and his wife Helen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony and Mary were high school sweethearts who married soon after graduation. He was active in the rodeo circuit during the 70’s. He was a truck driver for Central Freight Lines for 30+ years. Tony was an avid hunter who never passed up an opportunity to go hunting with his son, son-in-law and grandson. Even when his knees would not let him hunt he would sit in the truck with windows down and listen for the sounds of gunfire. After retirement he enjoyed spending many hours with siblings and friends drinking coffee and solving world problems. If he was not out with friends he was spending time with his grandchildren acting as chauffeur or cheering on a grandchild at their various activities.
We are blessed to know that Tony is now at peace in the Lord’s loving arms.
