Thurman F. Posey, 86 of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 in Waxahachie. He was born to the late William F. & Ora Douglas Posey on September 7, 1921 in Frost, Texas.
Thurman was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WWII. He served in the Guadalcanal Campaign and the Aleutians Islands, receiving the Bronze Star. He enjoyed fishing, antiquing and working in his wood shop. He was the kindest grandfather, loving his grandchildren very much. He enjoyed playing 42 and 84 dominoes and the grandchildren have fond memories of listening to him play his harmonica. Thurman was a fun and loving person, always putting his family first before anything else. The love of his life was Margaret, his loving wife, who he shared a very unique bond of unseparable love with. He is loved by so many friends and family members who will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Elaine Walker and her husband, Don of Waxahachie, Vera Lauterbach and her husband, Jack of Waxahachie; his sister, Lola Peacock and her husband, Billy of Whitney; his grandchildren, Brint & Dana Walker of Waxahachie, Clint and Christi Walker, of Waxahachie, Craig & Laura Lauterbach of Plano, Jack Jr. & Andrea Lauterbach of Lewisville, and Gretta & Shawn Flynn of PA; his great-grandchildren, Hallie & Hunter Walker, Catherine & Caroline Lauterbach, Abigail Lauterbach, and Patrick, Caitlin, & Molly Flynn.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Posey; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park of Waxahachie.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
