Thomas Johnston

Thomas Richard Johnston passed away at the age of 87 at the Ennis Care Center, Ennis, Texas on October 13, 2013. He was born on January 5, 1926 in St. Elmo, Illinois to B. Franklin and Estella (Davis) Johnston. Tom was a longtime member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and enjoyed a good game of golf at the Waxahachie Country Club where he was a member. Tom retired from Foster Forbes Glass after 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, one son Tommy Johnston, Jr. one daughter Sharon (Wendell) Compton and two brothers Johnny Johnston and David Johnston; three grandchildren: Melissa Johnston and Traci and Dan Trull of Waxahachie; Stella Dewitt of Little Elm, Texas. 6 great grandchildren: Jonathan Dewitt, Felix Reina, Anthony Reina, Dylan Baccus and Brooke and Tayler Trull. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Angela Johnston. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2 PM at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Roberts officiating. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 -8 pm on Tuesday, October 15 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
