Mrs. Ward passed away early Saturday morning, November 7, 2009 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation Center in Italy, Texas. Thelma Ward was born in LaFlore County, Oklahoma to Claud and Camilla (Eubanks) Roark. After graduating from High School and Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie she became a missionary teacher with Foreign Missions Assembly of God. She married Lee Roy Ward in 1953 in Liberia, West Africa. Upon retirement from being a Veteran Missionary, Waxahachie has been their permanent residence. She was a member of the University Assembly of God Church in Waxahachie.

She is survived by her husband Lee Roy Ward of Waxahachie, two daughters, Anita Barnes of Waxahachie and Joyce Eden of Clovis, California. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening, November 12, 2009 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2009 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Reverend Earl Teeter officiating. Interment will follow at the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Corsicana.

Memorials may be made to the University Assembly of God Church Building Fund.
