Sweetie Edmundson, age 94

Mrs. Edmundson, a life long resident of Ellis County, passed away Sunday morning at Pleasant Manor Care Center. She was born in Nash, TX. to Alonzo D. and Annie (Murphy) Wakeland. She graduated from the Nash School system. Sweetie played professional basketball. Mrs. Edmundson married Lee Edmundson in Nash. She was a general bookkeeper for Ellis County Gin and Grain and other grain operators, including Nash, Forreston, Howard, Five Points, Avalon and Roebuck. She was a member of the Nash Women's Club and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.

She is survived by: son, Jerry Edmundson of Waxahachie; grandson, Chris Edmundson and wife Roxanne; and one great grandchild, Ricki Lee Edmundson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Edmundson, son Lee Edmundson, Jr., six brothers, two sisters and daughter-in-law, Shannon.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Mary Nell Partin and Reverend Kevin Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Happy Jenkins, Jim Wakeland, Lon Robert Wakeland, Hoyt Alexander, Justin Wakeland and Chris Edmundson with W.A. Jenkins and Sonny Wakeland serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie or the Dallas Lonestar Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society.
