Susan Chappell

September 13, 1952 — December 14, 2019

Glenn Heights

Susan Hays Chappell was 67 years old when she went to join her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 14, 2019. She was born on September 13, 1952 in Waxahachie, Texas. At the time of her passing, she lived in Glenn Heights, Texas.  She was the youngest of 7 children.

Susan attended Waxahachie High School and later married and had a daughter, Shannon.  She had long been working as an office secretary until she began work in the Title Insurance Industry in 1980 at Plano Title Company until 1988, when she moved to Titusville, Florida for a few years and then moved back to Texas to be near her family.  She later became employed by Telesite Services and this job led her to move to Little Rock, Arkansas and then to Savannah, Georgia, when the company relocated.  Susan loved living in Savannah, with all its beauty and friendly residents, but she missed her family in Texas, which in 2000 now included her first grandchild, Harrison.  Becoming a Grammy brought her back to Texas very quickly.  She continued to work for the same company, but they allowed her work from home in Texas.  She was very happy because she was able to see her family more and keep her new grandbaby.  Susan was blessed with another grandchild, Chloe in 2005.  Susan was a young, beautiful, fun and classy lady and she adored being a Grandmother.   Her beautiful smile and witty personality and kind heart will be sorely missed by those who knew her.  She was truly one of a kind.

Susan touched the lives of not only her family, but her many, many friends over the years.  She was a beautiful soul that left us way too soon, but is no longer in pain.  She is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father, her Mother Ruth Hays Riley, her Daddy Maurice Hays, her Sister Diane Woods, and her two Brothers, Arville Hays and Gordon Hays, who preceded her in passing.

Susan is survived by her Daughter, Shannon Lundberg and Son in Law Randall Lundberg of Wylie. Texas and her Grandchildren, Harrison and Chloe.  Also her Sisters Donna Kinsel and Brother in Law John Kinsel of Fort Worth, Texas,  Jeanice Weatherford and Brother in Law Billy Weatherford of Midlothian, Texas and Brother Bob Hays and Sister in Law Martha Hays of Midlothian, Texas, as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews and her many friends.  Her Sisters and Brother lived near her and made sure they took care of their baby sister in her later years.  She was very blessed to have them in her life.  Susan was baptized at her Brother Bob Hays’ place of worship, The Cowboy Church of Ellis County by Pastor Ray Boyd, in September of 2019.  No doubt she is among the Angels in Heaven.
