Sue Winningham

Sue French Winningham, 76 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Samuel V. and Luella Watts French on April 19, 1934 in Milford, Texas. Sue worked for Southwestern Bell for 10 years. She and Jack owned and operated Winningham Iron and Metal where Sue worked as the office manager. She loved to water ski and go camping. Sue loved being with her family at Lake Palestine in East Texas and loved spending time with her girls and grandkids. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack R. Winningham of Waxahachie; her daughters, Susan L. Jordan and her husband, David of Waxahachie, Carla Winningham Voorheis of Waxahachie; her sisters, Nell Hart and her husband, Malcolm of Waco, Rose Killebrew of Lubbock; her brother, Darrell French and his wife, Bonita of Duncanville; her sister-in-laws, Pat French Hetzel of Tyler, Irene Winningham of Waxahachie, Sue Davis of Dallas; her brother in laws, H. L. "Sonny" Southard of Avalon, James Winningham and his wife, Arlene of Waxahachie; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Hinton, Megan Whitford, Raynie Hancock, Heath Owens, Kalie Owens, Justice Voorheis, Tori Voorheis, and Anna Mae Voorheis; and one great grandson, Zander Hinton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jackie Winningham Owens; her sisters, Berta White, Joy Southard; and her 2 brothers, James Lee and Darwood French. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park.
