Steven Alan Smith age 70, unexpectedly, but peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior, early Friday morning, March 24th.
Steve graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1970. Following graduation, Steve joined the United States Air Force, followed by 3 years in the Air National Guard. Steve met Jana Bills, the love of his life in October 1983. They dated for four years and were married for 36 wonderful years. Steve started his career in Manufactured Housing in Indiana, leading to the position of Director of Marketing in Ocala, Florida. After a move to Oklahoma, Steve was a business owner for the remainder of his career. Upon retirement he and Jana moved to Waxahachie, TX.

Steve’s love for the Lord was seen in how he served the Lord in his daily life in Church ministry. He taught Sunday School, played trumpet, sang on worship teams, and presented his Christian’s Guide to Family Finance Course. Music was a passion for Steve, belonging to the Silver Serenaders, The Ellis Hill Singers, among other groups. Steve loved serving as ministry leader for the Senior Adult Ministry at Pathway Baptist Church, formerly Farley Street Baptist Church, the past 5 years, feeling they were added family.
