Steven "Steve" Eugene Spurgin passed away Monday night. He was born in Dallas, TX. and raised in the Dallas, Lancaster, DeSoto area. Steve graduated from Jinks High School, Jinks, OK. He married Katherine Ford October 26, 1996 in Ferris. Steve was a Texas Iron Worker, involved with large building projects including Dart Rail System, Wall Street Journal, Printing Press and for the past four years, he was a maintenance technician for Walgreen Distribution Systems. He worshipped the Lord and was a part of a prison ministry in juvenile detention facilities for Global Glory Ministries International. His hobbies were winemaking and vineyard growing. Steve was a devoted husband.

His survivors include: his loving wife of almost ten years, Katherine Spurgin of Ferris; his father, Cardis Eugene Spurgin of DeSoto; his mother, Iris Jan Burnett-Dunham of Dallas; sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen Nathaniel Spurgin of Wyoming, Matthew Justin and Lydia Graham with the US Navy in Hawaii, Daniel Wyatt Graham of Mesquite; daughters and son-in-law, Heather Nicole Spurgin Summers of Wyoming, Sarah Jocelyn and Jon Burnett of Arlington; brothers and sister-in-law, Clifton Paul and Diane Spurgin of Red Oak, Jack Edward Ball of Arkansas; sisters and brothers-in- law, Racheal and Dale Eitel of Red Oak, Veronica and Jimmy Furse of Midlothian, Carrie Dunham of Tulsa, OK.; grandchildren, Ashley and Kamren.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Thursday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Oaks Fellowship, 777 S. IH35 E, Red Oak, Texas, with Mike Bray and Rick Solis officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Jordan, Shawn Davis, Junior Walker, Steven Hamm, Shay Krnavek and Travis Spurgin. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
