Stephen W. Nelson October 5, 1954 February 9, 2012 Stephen W. (Steve) Nelson, age 57 passed away peacefully on February 9, 2012 at his home in Waxahachie, TX. He was born on October 5, 1954 in Big Spring, TX. Steve graduated from Waxahachie High School and Navarro College. He was a rural mail carrier out of the Milford Post Office and was a former Vice-President for Bank of America. Steve was a devoted son, father, and husband who had helped manage the family dry cleaning business and had cared for his mother who suffered from Alzheimer's. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman and golfer. Steve loved having a good time with his family and friends and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed by his loving wife, family, many beloved friends, and those lives he has touched. Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Beth Nelson, and sister, Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife, Candace Nelson; his son, Craig Nelson and wife, Tish; his step-daughters, Aimee Mason, Mindy Battenfield and husband Jake; grandchildren Bridget, Hutton and Brooks Battenfield; his father, Bill Nelson, and wife Dottie; his step-sisters Denise Wilson and husband Justin, and Cynthia VanDerLeden and husband Hans along with a niece and two nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 pm Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Graveside services and internment will be 3 pm Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Hillcrest Burial Park in Waxahachie with Father Terry Reisner officiating.
