Stephen Eder

Stephen "Doc" Joseph Eder, 64 of Waxahachie passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 25, 1947 in Indianapolis to Homer Paul and Wanetta Marie Eder. Doc served in the U. S. Army from 1967-1973 as a medical Corpsman in Vietnam; a member of the Delta Company 196th 4/31 Light Infantry Brigade. He married the love of his life, Debra Steele Eder on September 15, 1975. Doc was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he taught Catechism. He was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul and Waxahachie Care under Deanna Bell. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Steele Eder; his children, Crystal and Khristopher Sarah, Todd and Jennifer Eder and Traci and Jason Farr; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Farr, Chloe Farr, Alexander Farr and Cameron Eder; his sister Cecilia Ann Reed and Tommy; and his brothers, Roman Eder and Myrna and David Eder; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Paul and Wanetta Eder; and also by his sister, Patricia White. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Bishop Mark Sietz serving as Celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. A rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
