Sidney Osteen

Sidney Gable Osteen, 71 of Maypearl, Texas passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 in Maypearl, Texas. He was born on January 11, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to the late Beryl & Hattie Mae Herman Osteen. Sidney was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge Post 524, Masonic Lodge Post #90 and served as the Worshipful Master of the Maypearl Masonic Lodge from 1986 thru 1988. He graduated the Police Academy in 2005 and became a Reserve Officer for Ellis County Sheriff's Office and was also employed by the Ellis County Sheriff's office from 1997 until his retirement in 2009. He was a licensed plumber and jack of all trades, he loved hunting, gambling and loved his friends and family.

Sindney is survived by his wife, Debra Sue Slagle Osteen of Maypearl, Texas; One son: Jeremy & Zara Osteen of Maypearl, Texas; Daughter: Amy and David Young of Maypearl, Texas; Daughter: Audra and Mike Brown of Mt. Park, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Cody and Brook Osteen of Waxahachie, Tx., Stephanie & Riley Hensel of Waxahachie, Texas; Amber Brown of Mt. Park, Oklahoma; Katelyn Cain of Maypearl, Texas; Cass Young of Maypearl, Texas; Great Grandchildren: Kaylor Osteen, Kixston Osteen and Evie Hensel of Waxahachie; Kannon Brown of Mt. Park, Oklahoma. 2 Brothers: John Osteen of Maypearl, Texas and George Osteen of Shreveport, LA; He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers: Jimmy Osteen and Beryl Glenn Osteen and one sister: Beverly Elmore.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Maypearl Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
