Shirley Jenkins

Shirley Jean Jenkins, 79 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Waxahachie. She was born January 07, 1936 in Waxahachie, Texas to James L. & Pauline Johnson Byrd. She attended Marvin Elementary School and later was a graduate of Waxahachie High School. Shirley married Bobby Joe Jenkins on November 03, 1953 in Waxahachie. They were married for 53 years at the time of Bobby Joe's passing. She worked at Great American Reserve Insurance Company in Dallas for 32 years until her retirement. Shirley was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie; Treasurer for her Sunday School Class and very active volunteering in different church activities. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and all that knew her and loved her. Survivors include her daughter Kim Jones and finance Greg McFadin, grandchildren Mandi Jo Allen and husband Billy, Bradley Wayne Jones and wife Lisa; Billy Joe Jones and wife Missy; great grandchildren: Max McCullough, Billy Tucker Jones and Grayson Luke Jones. She is survived by one brother James Byrd of Waxahachie and many loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Joe Jenkins, son Joe Keith Jenkins and sister Jo Ann Baker, and an infant great grandson, William Keith McAlexander. Visitation will be held at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6-8 PM. The celebration of Shirley's life will be held at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jerry Lemon officiating.
