Mrs. Shields passed away Saturday, August 30th at her residence in Waxahachie. She was born in Pratt, Kansas to John W and Tillie Martens Neal. She married Robert W. Shields on December 31, 1955 in Boyer, Tx. Mrs. Shields was employed with the Dallas County Health Dept and also with J C Penney here in Waxahachie. She enjoyed life and was devoted to her family and her church.

Surviving her are her husband, Robert W Shields; 3 sons, Marty Joe Shields of Seattle Washington ; Robert W Shields Jr and wife Sandy of Fletcher, Ok. and Terry D Shields and wife Lisa of Brownwood, Tx. Also surviving, 1 daughter Sheryl L Spruell and husband Bill of Dumas, Tx; 2 sisters, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 9:30 AM Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev Robert Shields, Rev Max Smiley and Rev Keith Shumate officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Phillip Yancey, Michael Yancey, Justin Yancey, James Hall, Tex Welch and John Harrison.
