Sharon Deelaney Allen, age 64

Mrs. Allen passed away Sunday in a Dallas Hospital. She was born in Terrell, TX. to Eddie and Ruth Elenore (Knowles) Deelaney. Mrs. Allen had resided in Red Oak for the past 42 years, moving from Alice, TX.

She was co-founder of TAAP and had worked at the Westridge Nursing Home for 30 years as an activity director. Mrs. Allen loved being around family and grandchildren and was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Her survivors include: husband, Jerry L. Allen; sons, Skipper Allen, Lamar Allen, Wade Allen, Jerry L. Allen, Jr; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Johnny B. Johnson; three brothers, one sister; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Gean L. Allen.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with interment following in the Red Oak Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
