Mr. Servando (PoPo) Mata, 80, of Red Oak passed away September 10, 2007. He was born October 22, 1926 in Laredo, Texas to the late Eleuterio and Emilia Mata. Mr. Mata was a retired Staff Sergeant serving in WWII and in Korea. He was honorably discharged from the Army after 20 years of service. He was a Catholic by faith.

His survivors include two sons, Rudy Mata and Mike Mata both of Rockwall, Texas; one daughter, Olga Mata of Red Oak, Texas; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 10:00 A.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
