Sarah Ann Jenkins was given the gift of life on August 6, 1951. She was the firstborn child of Doyle and Ruth Jenkins. She lived her life to the fullest despite encountering many challenges throughout her journey. She was born and raised in Dallas, TX alongside her three siblings. Her high school alma mater was Duncanville, graduating in 1969. Not long after that, she met her future husband while working at the Haggar Company. On December 11, 1970, they were married at Kenwood Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. Together they had four daughters. In the late ’70s, Sarah was saved and received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at Kenwood Baptist. In the 1980’s Sarah became a single mother of four daughters and decided to pursue a career in nursing. In 1989, both Sarah and her sister Debbie graduated with their nursing degrees from El Centro College. Sarah found her passion for nursing in the dialysis field. She started her career in nursing with Dallas Nephrology in 1989 and continued to work as an In-service Coordinator and Charge Nurse for Fresenius Medical Care until 2017. She was a member of Ovilla Road Baptist Church. On Sunday, May 16, 2021, she took her last breath with her daughters Lori, Terri, and Andrea by her side at Baylor Waxahachie. She was the matriarch of her family. She instilled a love for life, family, and friends within both her children and grandchildren, all while living a Christian and graceful life. She had a passion for her family, friends, nursing career, cooking, sewing, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, sudoku, watching cooking shows, antique shopping, conversing with loved ones, and was known to enjoy the occasional cup of ice.
