Santos Regalado Munguia, age 74
July 22, 1929
December 7, 2003

Mr. Munguia, a longtime Avalon resident, passed away Sunday evening at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born in Palmer, TX. to Santos R. and Rafaela (Esparza) Munguia. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper instructor. He was an Avalon farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church.


He is survived by: his wife, Lupe Munguia of Waxahachie; eight sons, Santos Munguia, JR. of Avalon, Richard Munguia of Dallas, Jesse Munguia of Avalon, Albert Munguia of Waxahachie, Robert Munguia of Ennis, Paul Munguia of Abbott, Ronny Munguia of Ennis, and Tony Munguia of Arlington; three daughters, Christine Cortagena of Groton, CT., Rachel Santos of Ennis and Maria Munguia of Waxahachie; one brother, Joe Regalado of San Antonio; one sister, Delphina Rivera of Wichita Falls; twenty three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Prayer Service will be 7 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Thursday, December 11, 2003 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Rudy DeLeon and Reverend Joey Martinez officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Munguia, Michael Holmes, Bruce Santos, Joey Munguia, Robert Munguia, Ricky Munguia and Manuel Munguia. Interment will follow at Hughes Cemetery, Avalon.
