Ruth Collins Smith, 86, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 at a local hospital with family by her side. She was born April 26, 1922 to Harvey and Emma Collins in Ellis County, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom F. Smith and an infant daughter, Janet Ruth Smith.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Smith of Corpus Christi, Ronnie Smith and his wife, Lydia of Corpus Christi; 3 grandchildren, Steven (Amber Perez) DE Los Santos of Runaway Bay, Texas, Jaime Miller of Corpus Christi, Shiloh and her husband, John Humes of Lake Dallas, Texas; 7 great grandchildren, Cameron Michael Miller of Corpus Christi, Alexander Smith of Arlington, Texas, Sarah Humes of Lake Dallas, Jonas Perez, Angelica Perez, Sadie Perez, and Jacob Perez, all of Runaway Bay, Texas; her special friends at the Cimmaron Seniors Apartments and Sardis Methodist Church.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Wilbanks officiating. Interment will follow at the Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
