Ruth Junkin

Ruth Nell Junkin, 76, was born October 12, 1943 to Billy and Faye Turner Colquitt.  She passed away on August 12, 2020, in Arlington, Texas.

Pallbearers are Dustin Junkin, Derek Junkin, Matt Loyd, Hunter Hocutt, Billy Keilers, and Donnie Keilers.

She attended school in Palmer, Texas.  In 1966 she attended Corsicana Beauty College and earned her Cosmetology license.  After that she worked in and owned her own beauty shop.  In 1980 she earned her Cosmetology Instructors license and began to teach Cosmetology at Waxahachie High School.  At that time, she enrolled in East Texas State University, which she graduated from in 1985 with Academic Distinction in the top 5% of her class.  She earned a BS in Vocational Education and a Certificate of Driver’s Education.  In 1989, she began to teach Marketing at Waxahachie High School and enrolled in the University of North Texas to earn her Marketing Certification.  She retired from Waxahachie High in 2004 and became a member of the Waxahachie Retired Teachers Association.

Ruth’s greatest achievement was becoming the Mother of her awesome son, Russell Dean Lisman on August 28, 1970

She was blessed with four Grandsons “by love” and a daughter” by love”.  They are Dustin Edward Junkin, Derek Ryan Junkin, Matthew Garrett Loyd, Hunter Joe Hocutt, and Jill Sigler.

Ruth married Jimmy Lisman in 1960.

Ruth was preceded by her Son Russell Dean Lisman, Her Father Billy Colquitt, her Father-in-law Irvin Edward Junkin, and her step Mother-in-law Mildred Bracken Junkin, and her husband David Edward Junkin.

She is survived by her Mother Faye Colquitt, Grandsons “by love” Dustin Junkin, Derek Junkin, Matt Loyd, and Hunter Hocutt; daughter Jill Hocutt; step son Doyle Edward Junkin and Wife Patti; half- brother-in-law Jimmy Benton; 3 sisters: Janie Keilers and Don, Linda Roppolo and Joe, Nancy Potter and Pat; one brother Mike Colquitt and Cindy; nephews: Brian Almand and Erin, Joey Almand and Vonda, Billy Keilers and Judy, Donnie Keilersand Shelley, Steven Potter and Brittany, Jason Harper, Scot Harper and Sherry; nieces : Kim Salazar and Eddie, Karan Fisher and Stuart, Carol Givens and Jeff, Nikki Colquitt, Elizabeth Conyers and Barry, Tina Boyd and David, Holly Ivy and Lee; Great nephews: Ryan Almand, Ty Keilers, Adam Caussey, Aaron Caussey, Preston Potter, Chase Keilers, Tanner Fisher, Erin Clements, Henry McAdams, Liam and Rory Conyers, Triston Harper, Paul Pravata; great nieces Lauren Foust and David, Erica Curry, Charlotte McAdams, Hannah Andrews, Maddie Andrews, Kristen Melendez and Andrew, Hunter Keilers, Haven Keilers, Heather Keilers, Amber O’Grady, Ashlyn Potter.
