Ruth Cox, age 90, a lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2006. Ruth was born on January 16, 1916, in Waxahachie, Tx. to W.T. (Bill) and Mattie Esselman. She retired from Esselman Electric Shop in 1976, after working many years as secretary for her dad and four brothers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie, where she played the piano many years for her Sunday School department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sealy Cox, in April 1979; son Dr. William Gerald Cox in December 2003, her parents; and four brothers, Douglas, James (Pete), Jack and Travis Esselman.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Jo Harris and husband Charles of Lorena, Tx; Susan Pannill and husband Mark of Waxahachie; one son James Glenn Cox and wife Debbie of Antlers, Ok; daughter-in-law Dorothy Cox of Waxahachie; one sister, Louise Griggs of Center, Tx.; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, March 14, 2006.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday March 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel, Wayne Boze Funeral Home, with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Waxahachie, Tx. or the charity of your choice.
