Russell Brian Lentz, 64, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2015, with family and friends by his side. Russell was born on October 31,1950, the third child of Eddie and Ruby (Kaddatz) Lentz of Hillsboro, TX. He was baptized Nov. 26, 1950, by Pastor John L. Herzog at Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and confirmed April ll, 1965, by Pastor Clemen Thies, also at Christ Lutheran. Russell was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents. Russell is survived by his wife Beth of Waxahachie, sons Brian of Red Oak, Kevin of Dallas, and Justin & Eric & wife Ayla of Waxahachie, Brothers Edward and wife Elaine of Crosby, Steven and wife Doris of Cypress, Kevin and wife Susan of Woodway, and sister Evelyn Cowart of Waco. Granddaughters Joanna Lentz of Riesel and Izabella Lentz of Dallas and Jaxon Lentz. Eight nieces and nephews, two aunts, and many cousins. Russell had a long career in the composing room at the Waco Tribune-Herald. After moving to Red Oak, he worked many more years at the Dallas Morning News. Russell loved to go fishing and growing lots of vegetables in his garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation or the American Stroke Association. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday February, 14, 2015 at the Red Oak Cemetery. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
