Ruby Rutherford Knox, age 85
March 13, 1919

Mrs. Knox, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Monday evening at Renfro Convalescent Center. She was born in Palmer, TX to William Brevard and Matilda (Feagins) Rutherford on March 13, 1919. Mrs. Knox graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1939. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone until her retirement in 1983. She has lived with her sister Juanita White since 1992. Mrs. Knox was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie.

Mrs. Knox is survived by: her sister, Juanita White of Waxahachie; two nieces, two nephews, four great nieces, three great nephews and numerous great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tom and Warren.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5-7 PM Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of life will be 2 PM Friday, December 3, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Ted Brown officiating. Pallbearers will Paul Vinson, Jimmy Swindell, Johnny Griffin, Sam Feagins, Wyman Harriman, and Garlin Bell.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
