Ruby Thompson Carmichael, age 91
October 6, 1911
March 11, 2003

Mrs. Carmichael, a resident of Claystone Nursing Home, passed away Tuesday at the Ennis Regional Hospital. She was born in Hereford, TX. to Alex and Audrey (Argo) Thompson. On August 1, 1937, she married Troys Carmichael in Hereford. She was a homemaker and a clerk for the A. O. Thompson Abstract Company. Mrs. Carmichael taught Children's Sunday School Class at Hereford First Baptist Church for over 40 years and led a children's choir for many years. She was a member of the Music Study Club, Garden Beautiful Club and the Women's Division Chamber of Commerce. She attended the Waxahachie Bible Church.

She is survived by: a daughter, Merle Henslee and her husband Don of Waxahachie; a granddaughter, Jennifer Henslee; a brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Troys Carmichael in 1988, and one sister, Margaret Schraeter.

The Celebration of Life was 10 AM Friday, March 14, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, Hereford, TX. with Reverend John T. Bethard, Minister of the Hereford First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment followed in West Park Cemetery, also in Hereford.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home, Hereford, TX.
