Royce Gothard

On April 16, 2022, Royce Neil Gothard went home to be with his Lord and Savior in his hometown of Palmer, Texas. Royce was born October 3, 1937. He was survived by his family which he loved very much and his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.

Royce joined the United States Marine Corps in 1955 and served his country well. He studied Criminal Law and became a Law Enforcement Officer for 49 years. Royce was a Lieutenant with the Ellis County Sheriff's Department from June 1987 until he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with his close friends and family. Watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up put joy in his heart everyday.

To honor his wishes, there will be a private funeral service and he will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery. There will be a memorial fund set up with the Marine Corps League in honor of him.
