Rosalie (Brown) Helms, age 64

Rosalie Brown was born in Italy, TX. on January 9, 1939 to Ruby Brown and the late Garrison Brown who preceded her in death in November 1999. Her mother still lives in Italy. Rosalie being the first child, was instrumental in the care and raising of her two sisters, Billye Windham of Silver City, TX. and Katrina Brinkenhoff of Nevada near Las Vegas. She continued throughout her life caring for her sisters very deeply.
Rosalie was quite an athlete and was on the state-bound girl's basketball team each of her four years in Italy High School. After her high school years she played some semi-pro basketball. Rosalie was also good in softball as well and played in semi-pro competition. In bowling she was among the top leading scorers in her bowling leagues and once had a game of 288 in Illinois competition.
In 1957 she married her childhood sweetheart, Lynn W. Helms of Avalon, Texas after meeting him at a basketball tournament at Avalon while in the fifth grade. Two sons were born to Rosalie and Lynn. Gary Lynn and his wife Gail lives in Maypearl, Texas, has seven children and works for Vaught Air Craft. Kevin lives in Waxahachie, Texas with his wife Kathy and works in the legal field.
She worked in Dallas, Texas to help financially in caring for her family for many years.
Rosalie and Lynn were fortunate to be able to retire while quite young and have been able to travel throughout the USA and therefore attained many, many friends in her travels as well as on the computer. She and Lynn traveled to numerous states to meet in person those whom she met on the computer. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly by her friends and family even though she is now in the arms of our Lord.
The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday from 6 to 8 at the Wayne Boze Italy Chapel. The Celebration of Life will be at 2 pm Thursday, December 11, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Italy.
Pallbearers will be James Marvin Helms, Terry Helms, Wendell Helms, Steve Helms, Larry Jones and Keith Helms. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Reaves, Edwin Brown, Joe Ellis, Ron Griffith, Vance Hinds and Bo Jones. Interment will follow at Italy Cemetery.
